If you miss a dose of Akulax Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

What is Akulax Syrup?::: Akulax Syrup is a combination of three laxatives: Sodium picosulfate, liquid paraffin, and milk of magnesia. Together they help relieve constipation by softening the stools and increasing the movement of the intestine. Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative which increases the movement of the intestines to push the stools forward. Liquid paraffin is a lubricant laxative which helps the stools to retain water. Milk of magnesia is an osmotic laxative and it works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, making the stools soft.| What are the recommended storage conditions for Akulax Syrup?::: Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it as mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.| Can the use of Akulax Syrup cause diarrhea?::: Yes, the use of Akulax Syrup can cause diarrhea. In case you experience diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration, like less urination with dark colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without consulting a doctor.| How long should laxatives be used for?::: Ideally, laxatives should only be used occasionally and for short periods of time. Do not get into the habit of taking laxatives every day to keep the bowels regular and to ease your constipation. It may be harmful.| Can any type of laxative be used for Crohn’s disease?::: No, some laxatives may not be safe to use if you are suffering from Crohn’s disease.
