This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.:

If you miss a dose of Alcatay Eye Drop, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

What is Alcatay Eye Drop? What is it used for?::: Alcatay Eye Drop belongs to the class of medicines known as H1 antihistamines. It is used to prevent and treat symptoms of eye allergies such as itching, redness, irritation or burning sensation.| What should I know before using Alcatay Eye Drop?::: Before using Alcatay Eye Drop, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to Alcatay Eye Drop or any of its ingredients to avoid any allergic reactions. Let your doctor know if you have, or have had any problems with your eyes. Inform your doctor about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding to prevent any harmful effects on the baby. Do not use this medicine to treat irritation caused by wearing contact lenses or while wearing contact lenses. This is because Alcatay Eye Drop can cause discoloration of the soft lenses.| How does Alcatay Eye Drop work?::: Alcatay Eye Drop works by blocking the release of a naturally occuring substance in our body known as histamine, that is responsible for producing symptoms of allergies such as itching, watery eyes, redness and irritation in the eyes.| How to use Alcatay Eye Drop?::: Remember to wash your hands before and after application of Alcatay Eye Drop. Do not touch the eye with the dropper or the tip of the ointment tube. Try to use it at about the same time each day. Use the prescribed number of drops or the right amount of ointment. Do not use more medicine than directed and do not use more often than directed. Do not stop using Alcatay Eye Drop unless directed by your doctor and try not to miss any doses.| What other precautions should I take while using Alcatay Eye Drop?::: If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using Alcatay Eye Drop and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in. Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.:

It helps in short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye. Follow your doctor’s instructions precisely for administering Alcatay Eye Drop in the eye. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the returning or worsening.Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include temporary eye irritation and burning sensation after administration. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or if your condition worsens. It may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use, so not drive until your vision is clear.:
