Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:
If you miss a dose of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

What is Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet?::: Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet is a combination of two medicines that helps keep the blood pressure under control. The medicine works by reducing the risk of strokes and myocardial infarction (heart attack), thereby treating hypertension (high blood pressure).| Can the use of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet cause dizziness?::: Yes, the use of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some people. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it would be best to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.| Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet?::: The use of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet is considered to be harmful for people with known allergy to any of the components of this medicine. It should preferably be avoided in people with severe kidney or liver impairment and in people with anuria (reduction or absence of urine). Its use should also be avoided in women who are in the second and third trimesters of their pregnancy.| What is the recommended storage condition for Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet?::: Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose the unused or expired medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.| Can I come off Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet when my blood pressure is controlled?::: Even if your blood pressure is successfully lowered by this medicine, it is advised to continue your medication. If you stop taking Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Blood pressure lowering medicines only help to control your condition but do not cure it. You will probably need to take them for the rest of your life. Some blood pressure medicines work best when they are taken for a long time. There is no firm evidence which suggests any effect on the fertility of either men or women with the use of Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet.| What other lifestyle changes should I make while taking Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet?::: Lifestyle changes play a major role in keeping you healthy if you are taking Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet. Avoid taking excess salt in your diet and find ways to reduce or manage stress in your life. Practice yoga or meditation or take up a hobby. Ensure that you have a sound sleep every night as this also helps to reduce stress levels and helps to keep your blood pressure normal. Stop smoking and alcohol consumption as this helps in lowering your blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and fat-free products. Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future. You can take Aldotel-CH 40 Tablet with or without food. The dose will depend on your condition and how your respond to the medicine. Try to take it at the same time each day. It is important to keep taking this medicine until your doctor tells you not to. It contains a diuretic (water pill) and will make you urinate more so, it is best to avoid taking this medicine within four hours of going to bed. Use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it even if you feel well. High blood pressure does not usually have symptoms and if you stop taking it your risk of heart attack or stroke may increase.The most common side effect is dizziness. Other side effects nausea, diarrhea, headache, and altered blood lipids. Frequent urination is not a side effect of this medicine. It is the purpose of chlorthalidone and helps control your blood pressure. You may experience other possible side effects, but most are rare. Make sure you read the leaflet that comes with your medicines and tell your doctor if you are bothered by side effects or they do not go away. It may be possible to adjust your dose or try a different medicine.This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and you should ask your doctor before taking it if you have kidney or liver disease, heart trouble or diabetes.
