Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet is recommended.However, consult your child’s doctor in case of severe liver disease.:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.:

Can I give cough and allergy medicine together?::: No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, thereby causing serious side effects. | Can I decrease the dose of Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet by myself if my child starts to feel better?::: No, adhere to the dose as prescribed by your child’s doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose by yourself as it can impact your child’s health. While increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.| How should Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet be stored?::: Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Also, keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.| Can Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet make my child sleepy?::: Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet causes mild drowsiness which can make your child sleepy. However, never give this medicine to your child to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.| My child is an athlete and has to participate in a sports event in the next two days. Can I start the course of Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet?::: No, don’t start Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet without speaking to your child’s doctor. Moreover, Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet can hamper your child’s performance as it may cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. So, it’s best to reach out to the doctor first.| Can I stop the medicine by myself?::: No, all symptoms may reappear on sudden withdrawal of Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet usually if taken for a long-term. It is advised to stop this medicine gradually under the guidance of your child’s doctor.| My child is suffering from a mood disorder. Is it safe to give Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet to my child?::: Some studies show that Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet can cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.| Can I use Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?::: Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet should only be used to prevent asthma attacks. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already started. Use your child’s reliever medicine to help with an attack that has already started.:

Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.:

Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies. Give this medicine to your child at a fixed time before or after food in the prescribed dose, time, and way. For asthma, prefer giving Alexcet LM 2.5mg/4mg Tablet in the evening or 2 hours before physical activity. For allergy, it is best to give it either in the morning or in the evening, depending upon the time of onset of symptoms. In case your child has both, prefer giving it in the evening. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again, but skip it if it’s already time for the next dose.Your child may start to feel better after a few regular doses. However, you must still complete the prescribed dose to ensure maximum benefit. Moreover, stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child’s condition. This medicine may cause some minor and temporary side effects like vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, rash, and headache. Usually, these episodes subside once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case these effects persist or start bothering your child, consult your child’s doctor without any delay.Let your child’s doctor know if your child is already taking any medicines. Also, narrate your child’s complete medical history, including any prior episodes of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, vascular disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, skin disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction.
