If you are suffering from acidity or any of its symptoms, you can take this medicine.| What is an antacid?::: Antacids are medications that are used to treat heartburn and work by blocking the production of stomach acids or aiding in neutralizing stomach acid.| Can I take other medicines along with Algiduo Oral Suspension?::: It is advisable to maintain a gap of at least 2 hours between antacids and other medicines.| When should I not take Algiduo Oral Suspension?::: Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, or any ingredient of this product. Also, this product contains sodium, people who are on a controlled sodium diet, such as those with hypertension, congestive heart failure, and renal impairment, need to talk to their doctor before taking this medicine.| How much and how often can I take this medicine?::: The recommended dose for people over 18 years of age is 10 to 20 mL after meals and before bedtime, up to four times a day. Algiduo Oral Suspension is a combination of three medications: Calcium carbonate, sodium alginate, and sodium bicarbonate. Calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate react with stomach acid, releasing bubbles of carbon dioxide. These bubbles allow the gel to form a strong protective barrier on top of the stomach contents, thereby preventing stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus. Additionally, sodium bicarbonate dissolves quickly and neutralizes the stomach acid, exerting a rapid buffering action. Sodium alginate reacts with gastric acid present in the stomach and produces a low-density viscous gel that floats on top of the stomach. This forms a physical barrier that protects the esophageal mucosa and the airways from the gastric reflux. Alginate has a rapid onset, providing quick relief from reflux symptoms.
