Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:

If you miss a dose of Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.\n \n:

Should Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet be taken with or without food?::: Take Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet orally with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually 3 to 4 times daily for up to 1 week after delivery. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Always follow your doctor’s advice while taking Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet.| Q. Who should not take Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet?::: Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet should not be taken by individuals who have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of seizures. It should also not be taken by pregnant women, as it can cause contractions of the uterus.| Q. Can Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet be used during breastfeeding?::: Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. It is recommended to wait at least 12 hours after taking Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet before breastfeeding.| Q. Does Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet increase blood pressure?::: Yes, one of the most common adverse effects of Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet is hypertension along with seizure. Seek immediate medical help in such a case.| Q. Can Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet be given to patients with heart disease?::: Patients with risk factors for coronary artery disease (e.g., smoking, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol) if administered Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet, are more susceptible to heart blockage leading to severe complications.:

Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet is an ergot alkaloid. It works by causing sustained contractions of the smooth muscles of the uterus. This results in compression of the blood vessels which controls bleeding after delivery.:

Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet is a medicine used to control bleeding from the uterus, that may occur after childbirth or an abortion. It works on the smooth muscle of the uterus and increases tone, rate, and amplitude of contractions thus reduces blood loss.Amtrin 0.125mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor’s advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, increase in blood pressure and seizure.  If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, alcohol should be avoided while taking this medicine.Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have ever had heart disease or you have high blood pressure.
