Adicid 40mg Injection is also used to prevent stress ulcers in seriously ill patients and is administered before anesthetic medication to help prevent aspiration-related complications. It belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medicine is administered into a vein by a healthcare professional and will only be given to you if your doctor thinks that an injection is more suitable for you at the moment than a tablet. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. Your doctor will decide the duration of treatment but you should keep on taking it as prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear quickly. What is Adicid 40mg Injection used for?::: Adicid 40mg Injection is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease, reflux esophagitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Adicid 40mg Injection prevents acidity associated with use of painkillers. It is also used to treat a disease associated with excessive acid production in the stomach known as Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES). It works by reducing the amount of acid made by your stomach and thus relieves your symptoms.| Can I take antacids along with Adicid 40mg Injection?::: Yes, you can take antacids along with Adicid 40mg Injection. Take it 2 hours before or after you take Adicid 40mg Injection.| How long does it take for Adicid 40mg Injection to work?::: You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for Adicid 40mg Injection to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.| Does Adicid 40mg Injection cause weight gain?::: Although rare but long-term treatment with Adicid 40mg Injection may cause weight gain. On the other hand, painkillers are usually taken with, or after a meal to avoid stomach upset.| Is a single dose of Adicid 40mg Injection sufficient?::: No, a single dose may not be sufficient. However, with only a few doses of Adicid 40mg Injection you may get relief with the symptoms. Adicid 40mg Injection is usually needed only for a short term or upto 2 weeks for heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux. Please consult your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Adicid 40mg Injection regularly for 2 weeks as prescribed.| What are the long term side effects of Adicid 40mg Injection?::: If Adicid 40mg Injection is used for more than 3 months, certain long term side effects may be seen. The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood which may make you feel tired, confused, dizzy, shaky or dizzy. You may also have muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat.
