How should I take Al Stone B6 Syrup?::: Al Stone B6 Syrup should be taken as directed by the treating doctor. Always dilute the dosage recommended by your doctor with one glass of water, before taking it.| Who should not take Al Stone B6 Syrup?::: Al Stone B6 Syrup should not be taken by people who suffer from high potassium levels (hyperkalemia) as it may lead to rise of potassium to even higher levels that can cause a cardiac arrest. Such people include those with chronic renal failure, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, acute dehydration, those who do strenuous exercise, or suffer from adrenal insufficiency, extensive tissue breakdown, or those taking potassium-sparing agents (such as triamterene, spironolactone or amiloride). People with delayed gastric emptying, esophageal compression, intestinal obstruction or stricture, or those taking anticholinergic medications should also refrain from taking Al Stone B6 Syrup. People who have peptic ulcer disease, active urinary tract infection, or renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate of less than 0.7 ml/kg/min) should also not take Al Stone B6 Syrup. If you have any further doubts, please consult your doctor.| Can I take Al Stone B6 Syrup in pregnancy?::: There is no clarity on the use of Al Stone B6 Syrup in pregnancy. However, if you are pregnant or planning to conceive, consult your doctor before taking Al Stone B6 Syrup. You may take it only if prescribed by your doctor.| Are there any foods that may be avoided while taking Al Stone B6 Syrup?::: Yes, certain foods containing high levels of potassium such as almonds, apricots, bananas, beans (lima, pinto, white), cantaloupe, carrot juice (canned), figs, grapefruit juice, halibut, milk, oat bran, potato (with skin), salmon, spinach, etc., must be avoided while taking Al Stone B6 Syrup. It is advised to consult a dietitian, to get a diet that suits your body requirements.| What should I tell my doctor before starting treatment with Al Stone B6 Syrup?::: Before starting treatment with Al Stone B6 Syrup, tell your doctor if you have any other health problems, like kidney, stomach or heart-related issues. This is because certain medical conditions may affect your treatment and you may even need dose modifications. Let your doctor know about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are planning a baby, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.| What medicines should I avoid while on treatment with Al Stone B6 Syrup?::: Medicines containing containing potassium or those that raise potassium levels such as potassium-sparing diuretics, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs such as irbesartan, valsartan, losartan and candesartan), Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors such as captopril, enalapril, lisinopril), Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen), certain nutritional supplements, etc., must be stopped before starting treatment with Al Stone B6 Syrup. Let your doctor know if you are taking any medicines or supplements before taking Al Stone B6 Syrup.:

Al Stone B6 Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Potassium Citrate, Magnesium Citrate and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) which prevent kidney stones. Potassium Citrate and Magnesium Citrate raise urine pH and prevents the formation, growth and aggregation of crystals in the kidneys, thereby preventing stones. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is added as its deficiency is associated with increased synthesis of oxalate, which is one of the constituents of kidney stones.:

Al Stone B6 Syrup is a combination of three medicines. It is used in the treatment and prevention of kidney stones. It works by preventing the formation as well as breaking down the crystals in the kidneys. Al Stone B6 Syrup may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. It should be taken with food. Measure the solution and dilute it in a glass of water before taking it. Take it regularly and do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by your doctor. You should not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you it is okay to stop.Using this medicine may cause a few common side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and stomach pain. If you experienced any such side effect that does not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing them.The medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders such as problems with your heart, liver, or kidneys.
