Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Algirest M Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:

Can Algirest M Syrup cause behavioral problems in my child?::: Algirest M Syrup contains ingredients that can interfere with brain activity and may cause drowsiness, irritability, and behavioral problems.| Which food items should my child avoid taking along with Algirest M Syrup?::: Do not give high-fat meals and fruit juices to your child along with Algirest M Syrup as they may interfere with the absorption of this medicine. Make sure to keep a gap of at least 4 hours between giving this medicine and food to your child. This is done to significantly decrease any possible interaction between the two.| My child has a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms. Can I give cough and allergy medicine together?::: No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, thereby causing serious side effects.| Can I decrease the dose of Algirest M Syrup by myself if my child starts to feel better?::: No, adhere to the dose as prescribed by your child’s doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose by yourself as it can impact your child’s health. While increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can result in a rebound reversal of all symptoms.| How should Algirest M Syrup be stored?::: Algirest M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Also, keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.| Can Algirest M Syrup make my child sleepy?::: Algirest M Syrup causes mild drowsiness which can make your child sleepy. However, never give this medicine to your child to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.| My child is an athlete and has to participate in a sports event in the next two days. Can I start the course of Algirest M Syrup?::: No, don’t start Algirest M Syrup without speaking to your child’s doctor. Moreover, Algirest M Syrup can hamper your child’s performance as it may cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. So, it’s best to reach out to the doctor first.| Can I stop the medicine by myself?::: No, all symptoms may reappear on sudden withdrawal of Algirest M Syrup usually if taken for a long-term. It is advised to stop this medicine gradually under the guidance of your child’s doctor.:
Algirest M Syrup contains Montelukast and fexofenadine. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.:

Algirest M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It is also used in the treatment of hay fever and allergic skin conditions. Give this medicine to your child at a fixed time before or after food in the prescribed dose, time, and way. For asthma, prefer giving Algirest M Syrup in the evening or 2 hours before physical activity. For allergy, it is best to give it either in the morning or in the evening, depending upon the time of onset of symptoms. In case your child has both, prefer giving it in the evening. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again, but skip it if it’s already time for the next dose.Your child may start to feel better after a few regular doses. However, you must still complete the prescribed dose to ensure maximum benefit. Moreover, stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child’s condition. This medicine may cause some minor and temporary side effects like vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, body aches, rash, and headache. Usually, these episodes subside once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case these effects persist or start bothering your child, consult your child’s doctor without any delay.Let your child’s doctor know if your child is already taking any medicines.
