Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alt-FM Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:
If you miss a dose of Alt-FM Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

What is Alt-FM Tablet ?::: Alt-FM Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Montelukast and Fexofenadine. This medicine is used to treat allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneeze and cough. It works by lowering the chemicals in the body that cause allergy symptoms.| Can Alt-FM Tablet be stopped when allergy symptoms are relieved?::: No, Alt-FM Tablet should be continued as advised by the doctor. If any problems are experienced due to Alt-FM Tablet, consult the doctor for re-evaluation.| Can the use of Alt-FM Tablet cause dizziness?::: Yes, the use of Alt-FM Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.| What should be avoided in food while taking Alt-FM Tablet?::: Do not take it with any fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit) as they might make the drug less effective. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Alt-FM Tablet as it might increase the severity of drowsiness or sleepiness caused by Alt-FM Tablet.| Will Alt-FM Tablet be more effective if taken in higher doses?::: No, taking more of this medicine will not make it more effective, rather it can lead to increased side effects. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger called leukotriene. This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of another chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.:

Alt-FM Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness. Alt-FM Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease.
