The dose will depend on the condition you are being treated for and will be decided by your doctor. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit from Altoba Injection.| Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?::: No, Altoba Injection should be taken in the recommended dose only. Overdose of Altoba Injection can increase the risks of side effects. If you experience an increase in the severity of your symptoms during the treatment, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.| What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Altoba Injection?::: Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.| Is Altoba Injection effective?::: Altoba Injection is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Altoba Injection too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.| What if I don’t get better after using Altoba Injection?::: Inform your doctor if you don’t feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, consult your doctor if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine. The doctor may modify the dose or suggest an alternative medicine.| Does Altoba Injection have a steroid in it?::: No, Altoba Injection alone does not have steroids in it. It is an antibiotic, which means that it is effective against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral or fungal infections and hence should not be used in these kinds of infections. Altoba Injection may be combined with steroids such as dexamethasone.| What bacteria does Altoba Injection kill?::: Altoba Injection is effective against a wide range of bacteria. Altoba Injection must be used only against susceptible bacteria. A whole gamut of bacteria that can be killed by Altoba Injection includes S. Aureus and S. epidermidis, some species of Streptococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Proteus mirabilis, Morganella morganii, most Proteus vulgaris strains, Haemophilus influenza, and H. aegyptius, Moraxella lacunata, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, and some Neisseria species. Your doctor will evaluate whether this medicine is suitable for your condition.| How long should you use Altoba Injection?::: The doctor will decide the duration of treatment which will depend on the severity of infection. For instance, if you have mild to moderate eye infection, your doctor will advise 1-2 eye drops, 4 times a day, usually. In severe infections, you may be prescribed 2 drops every hour. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor. You should use it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.| How should Altoba Injection be used?::: You should wash your hands before using the eye drops. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anywhere else. Tilt your head slightly and instill one drop. Close your eyes for 2 or 3 minutes with your head tipped down, avoid blinking or squinting. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye for about 1 minute, to keep the liquid from draining into your tear duct. If you use more than one drop, wait about 5 minutes between the drops. Wait at least 10 minutes before using any other eye drops your doctor has prescribed.:

Altoba Injection is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This may include infections of the urinary tract, bones and joints, lungs (e.g., pneumonia), brain (e.g., meningitis), blood, abdominal organs, and some others. Altoba Injection may also be used in hospitalized patients to prevent infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Your doctor may shift you to another antibiotic after culture reports become available. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.This medicine may casue nausea, vomiting, and stomach upset as side effects in some people. Rarely some patients may develop balance disorder (loss of balance), kidney damage, and hearing loss. Therefore, please follow all the instructions given by your doctor while using this medicine.Your doctor may monitor you with regular kidney function tests, hearing tests, and urine tests during treatment. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or if your condition does not improve. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
