Is Altysev 400 Tablet DT taken with food?::: Yes, Altysev 400 Tablet DT can be taken with food. It is recommended to take 1-2 tablets (based on individual needs) thrice daily. It is important to take it with meals because Altysev 400 Tablet DT works by binding to phosphate from food. Take it exactly as advised by your doctor.| Can Altysev 400 Tablet DT be crushed?::: No, you should not crush, chew, or break Altysev 400 Tablet DT into pieces. You should swallow it as a whole with water.| Why is it important for me to take Altysev 400 Tablet DT?::: It is important to take Altysev 400 Tablet DT as patients undergoing dialysis cannot control the phosphate levels in their blood, especially after a meal. When the level of phosphate exceeds above the range in the blood, it may cause problems such as itchy skin, red eyes, high blood pressure, bone pain, and also increase the risk of fractures. These increased serum phosphate levels are reduced by Altysev 400 Tablet DT, as it binds phosphate from food in the digestive tract.| Does Altysev 400 Tablet DT cause constipation?::: A common side effect of Altysev 400 Tablet DT is constipation, though it does not occur in everyone. The other common side effects of the stomach and intestine include diarrhea, indigestion, flatulence, and pain in the abdomen. Immediately consult your doctor if these side effects become severe and disturb you.| Who should not take Altysev 400 Tablet DT?::: Patients who are allergic to Altysev 400 Tablet DT and who have low levels of phosphate in blood should avoid taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT. Additionally, patients having intestinal obstruction should also avoid using Altysev 400 Tablet DT.| Can I take ciprofloxacin while I am taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT?::: Ciprofloxacin may interfere with the working of Altysev 400 Tablet DT and therefore it should not be taken at the same time as Altysev 400 Tablet DT. However, if taken together then a gap of at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT should be maintained.| How long do I need to take Altysev 400 Tablet DT?::: Continue taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT as long as recommended by your doctor. Altysev 400 Tablet DT lowers your dietary phosphate levels but does not cure your disease. Hence, you may have to take it lifelong, as stopping Altysev 400 Tablet DT may increase your phosphate levels.| Do I need to have any tests while taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT?::: Yes, serum phosphate levels should be monitored regularly while you are taking Altysev 400 Tablet DT. Also, the use of Altysev 400 Tablet DT may decrease the levels of vitamin D, A, E, K, and folic acid and hence the levels need to be monitored during the treatment.:

It inhibits the absorption of phosphate from the intestine and lowers the phosphate levels in the blood. Altysev 400 Tablet DT should be taken with food. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it regularly and at a fixed time each day to get the maximum benefit of the medicine.Altysev 400 Tablet DT may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea.
