What is Alzic 4mg Injection? What is it used for?::: Alzic 4mg Injection belongs to a class of medicines called bisphosphonates that prevents abnormal breakdown of the bones. Alzic 4mg Injection is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis and fractures in people with metastatic cancer (a cancer which spreads to newer areas of the body). It may also be used to treat hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels).| How does Alzic 4mg Injection work?::: Alzic 4mg Injection works by increasing the density of the bones which helps in preventing osteoporosis. In addition to that, it helps to treat high calcium levels in the blood caused due to secondary bone cancer. Also, it is helpful in treating metastasis of bone which is caused due to breast cancer.| How long should I take Alzic 4mg Injection?::: Alzic 4mg Injection should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. The medicine takes around 6 month to show its maximum benefits on bones. However, in some cases, the doctor may suggest Alzic 4mg Injection for a longer duration. The exact duration will depend on the condition you are being treated for. | How is Alzic 4mg Injection administered?::: Alzic 4mg Injection should be administered by a trained healthcare professional or a doctor only and should not be self-administered. Alzic 4mg Injection is used to treat or prevent weakening of the bones (osteoporosis) caused by menopause or use of steroids. Using this medicine can reduce your risk of breaking bones. It is also used to treat high levels of calcium in people who have cancer. Alzic 4mg Injection is given by a doctor or nurse. How much you are given, and how often, will be decided by your doctor. It may just be a single injection or you may need regular injections depending upon your underlying condition. Your doctor will ask you to drink plenty of water before the injection, to avoid getting dehydrated. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Alzic 4mg Injection is only part of a treatment program that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.The most common side effects include nausea, fatigue, anemia, bone pain, fever, and vomiting. Alzic 4mg Injection can cause serious kidney problems, especially if you are dehydrated, if you take diuretic medicine (water pills) or if you already have kidney disease. It can also cause low levels of calcium in the blood and pain in the mouth or jaw. These are serious side effects and need urgent medical attention. Tell your doctor straight away if you notice any of these.You should not be given this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or low calcium levels. Also, let your doctor know what other medicines you are taking.
