Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:

If you miss a dose of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.:

Does Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet have abuse potential?::: No, Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet does not have abuse potential. On the contrary, it may prevent excess use of addictive drugs such as morphine or ethanol.| When and how Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet should be taken?::: Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet should be taken orally once a day. To benefit from your medicine you should take it regularly every day at the same time of the day. The tablets should be swallowed with some water. The tablets can be taken with or without food.| How long does it take for Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet to start working?::: For Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet to start working and show its full benefits, it may require between 3 and 8 hours. The doctor may require a follow-up clinical assessment to check the progress after 4 weeks and then 6 months after the first assessment.| What are the symptoms of overdosage of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet?::: The symptoms which can be observed due to an overdose of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet include tiredness, weakness, drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, and/or vomiting. Some may also experience diarrhea, vertigo, agitation, aggression, and walking difficulty.| How does Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet affect a person with dementia?::: Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet belongs to a class of medications called N-methyl-D- aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonists. It works by decreasing abnormal activity in the brain. Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet may improve the ability to think and remember. It may also reduce the deterioration of these abilities in people who have Alzheimer’s disease. However, with time the effectiveness of this medicine will reduce and it may not be able to cure Alzheimer’s disease or prevent the loss of these abilities.| What is dementia?::: Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior, and the ability to perform everyday activities. Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people worldwide. Alzheimer disease is the most common form of dementia which contributes to around 60 to 70% of cases.| Can I just stop taking Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet?::: No, Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet should not be stopped even if you feel well. This medicine only helps to control the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease but does not cure it. If you need to stop the medication then doctor should be consulted first.| Does Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet make you sleepy?::: Yes, Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet may make you sleepy. Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet has minor to moderate influence on the ability to drive and usage of machines. In such cases, outpatients should be warned to take special care.| Can Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet be combined with donepezil?::: Yes, Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet can be combined with donepezil, as there will be no increased adverse effects. However, this combination will not cure Alzheimer’s, but it can only improve thinking ability, short term memory, and other related symptoms.| What medicines should I avoid while taking Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet?::: Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet can interact with several medicines. Taking other medicines along with Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet can either make Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet less effective or increase its side effect. Do not take any medicine without talking to your doctor.| Does Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet have any interaction with cardiac medicines?::: Yes, Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet may interfere with the working of hydrochlorothiazide (HCT). It decreases the levels of HCT which will reduce the effectiveness of HCT. Also, procainamide and quinidine may increase levels of Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet which may cause increased toxicity.| Can I stop taking Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet if I feel better?::: No, keep using Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet as advised by your doctor, even if you feel well. Stopping Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet can bring back your symptoms of dementia.:

This medicine works by blocking a chemical messenger involved in the transmission of nerve signals. Alzitin-ER 7 Tablet maybe taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the blood. If you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor.The most common side effects of this medicine are dizziness, headache, confusion, and constipation.
