Does birth control pills have any effect on Ambrodil-XP Syrup?::: If you are taking birth control pills, dose of Ambrodil-XP Syrup need to be reduced as birth control pills may interfere with clearance of Ambrodil-XP Syrup, increasing its levels and chances of side effects.| How should Ambrodil-XP Syrup be taken?::: Ambrodil-XP Syrup should be taken strictly as advised by the doctor. To avoid an upset stomach it should be taken with food. | Is it okay to take furosemide along with Ambrodil-XP Syrup?::: One should take proper caution if you are taking furosemide along with Ambrodil-XP Syrup. This is because the combined use of these medicines may decrease the levels of potassium. Hence, regular monitoring of potassium levels is required.| When should Ambrodil-XP Syrup be avoided?::: Ambrodil-XP Syrup should be avoided in patients who are allergic to ambroxol, Ambrodil-XP Syrup, or theophylline. Along with that, patients suffering from low blood pressure, irregular heart beats or rhythm or history of heart attack, liver disease or kidney disorder should avoid taking Ambrodil-XP Syrup.| Is Ambrodil-XP Syrup the same as theophylline?::: Ambrodil-XP Syrup comprises of theophylline-7 acetate and ambroxol which makes it effective in making the mucus more fluid and clearing the airways easily, thereby making breathing easier. This effect of Ambrodil-XP Syrup works as an added advantage over theophylline. Moreover, it also reduces the need for other medicine used to treat asthma, like salbutamol.:

Ambrodil-XP Syrup is used to treat and prevent symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which flow of air to the lung is blocked). It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening it and making it easier to breathe. Ambrodil-XP Syrup can be taken with the food in evening. Take it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Do not miss even a single dose, if in any case, you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember or better to skip the missed dose and continue with regular dosing. It does not work immediately or prevent the already started breathing trouble, hence always carry your medical inhaler with you for an emergency.The most common side effects of this medicine include abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and heart burn. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, it is advised not to consume alcohol or do not smoke while on treatment.Before taking this medicine, let your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease or if you have heart-related problems.
