Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Amvus DX Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:
If you miss a dose of Amvus DX Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

Avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities at the beginning of your treatment until you know how the medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such episodes while taking this medicine.| Will Amvus DX Syrup be more effective if taken in more than recommended dose?::: No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having some serious side effects and toxicity. If you experience increased severity of your symptoms that are not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.| Can I breastfeed while taking Amvus DX Syrup?::: No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Amvus DX Syrup. This medicine contains Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, which can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if you are advised to take this medicine.| What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Amvus DX Syrup?::: Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Amvus DX Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.:

Amvus DX Syrup is a medicine used in the treatment of common cold and cough. It can provide quick relief from cough and common cold symptoms like runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness. Amvus DX Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, sedation, double vision, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, and nausea. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.:
