What is Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet?::: Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine and Mefenamic acid. This medication helps to relieve abdominal pain. Drotaverine relieves muscle spasms associated with smooth muscles in the abdomen. Mefenamic Acid works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (swelling).| Is it safe to use Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet?::: Yes, Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet is safe for most of the patients with abdominal pain. However, in some patients it may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, dryness in the mouth, weakness, sleepiness and other uncommon or rare side effects. If you experience any persistent problem while taking this medication, inform your doctor as soon as possible.| Can I stop taking Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet when my pain is relieved?::: Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when your pain is relieved. However, Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet should be continued if your physician has advised you to do so.| Can the use of Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet cause nausea and vomiting?::: Yes, the use of Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small and frequent sips. Also, avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with the medicine. Talk to your doctor if you have vomiting persists and you notice any signs of dehydration like less urination with dark coloured and strong-smelling urine. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry. Avoid spicy, salty and acidic foods (like lemons).| Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?::: No, do not take a higher than the recommended dose of Amzydro 80mg/250mg Tablet as it can increase the risks of side effects. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dryness in mouth, loss of appetite, feeling thirsty, and heartburn.
