Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amlopres TL Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.:
If you miss a dose of Amlopres TL Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.:

Q. What should I avoid while taking Amlopres TL Tablet?::: You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause some side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated, drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy so avoid driving, using machinery or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again.| Q. What happens if I take too much of Amlopres TL Tablet?::: If you accidentally take too much of Amlopres TL Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any of such symptoms contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.| Q. Can I come off Amlopres TL Tablet when my blood pressure is under control or normal?::: Even if your blood pressure is successfully lowered by this medicine, it is advised to continue your medication. If you stop taking Amlopres TL Tablet, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Blood pressure lowering medicines only help to control your condition but do not cure it. You will probably need to take them for the rest of your life. Remember, by keeping your blood pressure controlled you are reducing your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.| Q. What happens if I forget to take Amlopres TL Tablet?::: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you often forget doses, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. If not sure then you can consult your doctor for other ways to help you remember.| Q. What will happen if I stop taking Amlopres TL Tablet?::: You should not stop taking Amlopres TL Tablet without talking to your doctor first. If you do stop taking it, your blood pressure may rise and you may put yourself at greater risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. If you experience side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, etc., talk to your doctor.| Q. Is it safe to take Amlopres TL Tablet for a long time?::: Amlopres TL Tablet is generally safe to take for a long time. Remember to follow your doctor’s advice/instructions.| Q. How long will I be taking Amlopres TL Tablet for?::: You may have to take Amlopres TL Tablet for a long-term or even lifelong. The medicine only keeps your blood pressure under control for as long as you are taking it. Therefore, it is advised to continue your medication and follow your doctor’s advice.| Q. What if Amlopres TL Tablet doesn’t make me feel any better?::: High blood pressure does not usually have any symptoms, so you may not feel ill if there is any change in the blood pressure. Therefore, this medicine may not make you feel “better”. This does not mean that you can stop the medicine as they are working in the background to reduce your risk of serious illness.| Q. Can Amlopres TL Tablet affect my fertility or sex life?::: Amlopres TL Tablet may very rarely lead to erectile dysfunction (inability to gain or maintain an erection).
